Amazing outdoor seating area. Excellent meet up/ happy hour place. We enjoyed our BBQ. We found the employees very friendly and the food to be of good quality. Not an inexpensive option, but a very solid experience. The interior was clean and well stocked with napkins, utensils, and containers for leftovers.

10/10. No doubt one of the best bbq place I've ever been to. Visiting from Cali. Nothing from Cali compares. Brisket was juice, tender, and flavorful. All sides where on point they were tastey and rich. Sauces were all on point. A must try when in Brownsville! Regards to Tony the chef, very humble and welcoming. Great cook!

Small seating area, but good barbecue. Beans are pretty good as well. I had the brisket, which was a little dry in spots, but still a solid four.

First visit and extremely pleased. Posts from other people warn to get there early if you want the full selection of meat. We were there at @3:30 and only brisket was available. But it was delicious! Potato salad was great. Cole slaw was kind of forgettable. Craft beer drinkers - they have a new beer garden with an excellent draft and can selection. The outdoor space is very well done. There are tables and adiriondac chairs, and an outdoor television. Highly recommend!

Had a good visit to 1848 today with my Dad. Overall, I would say 4 stars. Brisket was super tender and smoky and ribs were very tasty, but both meats were just lukewarm making me doubt their freshness. Nothing positive or negative to say about the sides. Beware of their pulled pork bbq sauce, though, as it is heavily mustard flavored. Prices were good, services was friendly and fast. Awesome location with water-front views with outdoor seating, too, and close to a children's park right across the street.
